Adult/Family Support

South Vancouver Family Place offers one-on-one Adult  and also group Support Programs for Adults and Families:

 

NEW Program for September: “PARENTING THROUGH COVID”

Join Renee on-line with Zoom for discussions on the challenges we are all facing with the COVID restrictions. We will talk about how it is affecting us and our families including the feelings coming up in children and adults such as frustration, sadness, anger, loneliness. Together we will explore ways to help ourselves and our children to cope and make each day good.

6 sessions starting September 21 to November 2, 2020 Mondays 1:00-3:00 p.m. ZOOM

Program is limited to 10 Participants .  Please Register by email to renee.svfp@gmail.com

Program is offered free to Families who have completed the online Participant Registration form and paid the $10 annual fee.

Our Adult Support Workers are also parents, and especially knowledgeable about concerns and stressors that parent, grandparents, and caregivers may be experiencing on subjects such as…

– Child development
– Discipline and guiding children
– Changing family relationships
– Attachment
– Strong emotions (anxiety, anger, tantrums, loneliness)
– Taking care of ourselves
– And generally finding ways to feel calm, happy and proud of ourselves and our children.

Our adult support workers are always available for conversations at both of locations while you and your child are attending the drop-in programs.

During Parenting/Group support Programs 

Group support workshops are offered during the year. Check the Calendar for current schedules.

In Private 1:1 sessions by appointment

You can call arrange to a private meeting . (Donations for this service are appreciated.)
